In order for children to read English well, they must navigate their way through many different sound combinations. Our phonics reading game helps children to pronounce these sounds correctly by giving them a representation of each sound using attractive characters that make the game fun. Level 1 introduces the short vowels, ‘magic e’, the ‘ch’ and ‘sh’ sounds and more. Level 2 includes complex sounds made up of several letters, such as photo (= foto) and action (= aksh’n) as well as sounds that seem completely illogical, such as enough (= enuff).

This card game is used to teach vocabulary. The beginners’ set covers themes such as sports, animals, food, and professions. Many of the words have similar sounds in other languages, for example: ‘television’, ‘pizza’, ‘football’ and ‘doctor’. At the higher level, additional themes and more abstract vocabulary are introduced, such as musical instruments, topics of study, public institutions, and concepts such as ‘journey’, ‘flight’, ‘cruise’, and ‘voyage’.
